Windows Modern Design Language (Metro)

At Microsoft, I helped shape the visual and motion language for the Windows Modern Design experience. My work spanned the complete user journey—from unlocking the device and revealing content to navigating live tiles, launching applications, and moving fluidly between experiences.

I designed interface behaviors, transitions, and motion principles that helped make the system feel connected and intuitive across devices. Motion was not treated as decoration; it communicated hierarchy, preserved context, guided attention, and gave the Windows experience its distinctive sense of depth and responsiveness.

This work contributed to a broader design language that connected visual design, interaction, and motion into one cohesive system, resulting in more than 30 awarded design patents.
