Samsung Multi Device
During my time at Samsung UX Service Labs (2011–2015), I worked on experimental projects that explored new opportunities in mobile services and cross-device experiences. One of these initiatives, the Multi-Device Companion Project, focused on creating a seamless ecosystem between Samsung’s devices—spanning mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, and eventually appliances.
Our research showed that users frequently used their phones or tablets while casually watching TV—a behavior pattern we knew from Samsung’s product data. The challenge was to design an intuitive, connected experience that allowed content and interactions to flow naturally across devices. This included not only mobile-to-TV handoff but also the potential for curated media partnerships with brands like Disney and NBC to increase engagement and customer retention.
Working within tight sprint cycles, I collaborated closely with researchers, project managers, developers, and writers to shape the user interface, interaction models, animation, motion design, and gesture concepts. I also crafted the story and flow for the proof of concept and stitched them together, which was presented to executives for approval. Once greenlit, we partnered with the go-to-market team and Samsung product designers to bring the vision to life across mobile devices, TVs, projectors, and eventually connected appliances.
This project helped lay the foundation for how Samsung’s ecosystem could deliver a holistic, multi-device user experience—blending innovation with everyday user behaviors..
